Our 8 session plan includes: Initial physiotherapy assessment with 7 follow up appointments. You may ask why 8 sessions? In our experience most musculoskeletal conditions/injuries take 8 sessions to be treated fully. Though most patients feel no pain after 3-4 sessions the body is usually still compensating for the previous injury. If not rehabilitated correctly this can lead to re-injury, pain in other areas of the body, chronic re-injury and sometimes chronic pain. If you purchase the 8 session plan you get one free follow-up compared to if you were to purchase these sessions separately. Our initial assessment involves an evidenced based interview and physical assessment of your current condition or complaint. After the assessments we will discuss our findings with you and advise you on the best course of treatment for you and your lifestyle. Post session we will send you an e-mail with our findings through your own personalised Road to Recovery. Your Road to Recovery is a step by step plan on we would support you to achieve your physical goals. It will explain the implication of your diagnosis, what we can do to help, how we’re going to help and what you’ll need to do to help yourself. Your Road to Recovery will have a timescale, easy to understand milestones, potential pitfalls and how to avoid them on your journey towards your goal to recovery. Our follow-up session are for 30 minutes. In these sessions we review where you are on your Road to Recovery, re-assess to see if your ready to move onto the next stage of your rehabilitation, give needed treatment, advice, education on your condition, and what is expected before your next session. Follow-up sessions do not need to be once a week, their timing purely depends on your condition and what you have agreed with the therapist.
